Sarah Reyes, LCSW
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), (CA #105531) Sarah has spent the last 15 years helping children grow and heal through play. Sarah holds a Master’s in Social Work from New York University and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential through the Association of Play Therapy. As a school-based mental health clinician, she also completed hundreds of hours of play therapy training. Sarah is certified in Aut-Play (Play Therapy for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder) and trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Knowing parents feel particularly vulnerable when their children are struggling with big feelings, fears, or behaviors, Sarah sees herself as a partner for families in the growth, development and healing processes. The basis of her work with children is creating an environment in which they feel seen and secure, and free to express themselves through play.
Sarah utilizes an integrative approach that includes interventions from a range of theories such as Child Centered Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy. She aims to help children connect with their inner strengths and build the skills they need to bloom and thrive. Emphasizing parents’ role and expertise, she values frequent meetings with them to foster collaboration and ensure both parents and their children have the support and resources they need.
Sarah conducts sessions at the Clairemont location and via telehealth.
