Ryan Wauson, ASW

Ryan Wauson, ASW (he/they) is an associate clinical social worker with experience in intensive outpatient programs, inpatient care, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and community mental health settings. They take an integrative, person-centered approach, drawing from training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Behavioral Activation (BA), psychodynamic theory, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals cultivate greater freedom, meaning, and clarity in their lives.

Ryan specializes in working with individuals struggling with rigid thinking patterns, high self-expectations, and the emotional toll of advocacy and activism. They are particularly passionate about supporting those navigating perfectionism, OCD, phobias, gender identity exploration, political organizing, and burnout, as well as individuals from the former Soviet Union.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master of Arts in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from Stanford University, and a Master of Social Work from California State University, San Marcos (CSUSM). They are a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Climate Psychology Alliance North America (CPA-NA) and participate in monthly programming with the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center.
