Darlene Morris, AMFT
Darlene Morris is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT). She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in which she graduated with Distinction (4.0 GPA), a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a California Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. She is an integrative therapist who offers a wide variety of services to help you, your family, and your loved ones.
Her specialties include trauma, grief & loss, anxiety, stress, depression, adults experiencing life transitions such as divorce, empty nest and career change, couples, self-harm, low self-esteem, and school challenges. She enjoys working with clients ages 15 and up. Raising 5 children has given Darlene a wide range of practical insights into the intricate joys and challenges these relationships can bring.
She considers every client to be a unique, beautiful being with a profound capacity for healing and growth. In her sessions, she strives to foster a nurturing environment filled with meaningful discussion, exploration & even laughter. Her goal is to provide a strengths-based approach which is positive, encouraging, and judgment-free and creates a safe space where you can find the path to your best life, growth, and healing.
Her therapeutic approach is rooted in Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Socratic Questioning, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Darlene’s passion lies in offering a life preserver to the heartbroken, and hope and help for a brighter future.
Darlene conducts sessions at the Encinitas location and via telehealth.
