Danielle Lord, AMFT, APCC
Hello, I’m Danielle, a professional clinical therapist AMFT (CA #139969) and APCC (CA #14031) with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and a Bachelors in Psychology and Spanish from Biola University.
I believe healing begins in a space that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in authenticity. My work is centered on supporting clients as they make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward greater clarity, stability, and meaningful change.
My clinical experience includes working across the continuum of substance use treatment—from detox, inpatient, and outpatient care at Lucid Oceanside Recovery Center, to residential treatment supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, emotion dysregulation, and major life stressors. I also have experience working with children and adolescents at La Jolla Psychology Center, helping them build emotional awareness, coping skills, and healthier relational patterns.
I tailor Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a trauma-informed, client-led framework to help clients process difficult experiences and shift unconstructive patterns.
My specialties include PTSD and fear-based work, strength-based approaches, and techniques that support clients in developing more empowering and meaningful narratives aligned with their values, strengths, and preferred identity. I believe healing is not about becoming someone different, but reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been hidden beneath pain, trauma, or survival.
If you feel I may be a positive fit for your therapy experience, I would be honored to walk alongside you in the healing process.
