Daisy Varela, ASW
My name is Daisy Varela and I’m an Associate Social Worker. I have worked with various populations ranging from: natives, foster youth, at risk youth, youth and adults on the autistic spectrum, individuals with dual diagnosis, psychosis, refugees/asylees, and so forth. I have been trained in EMDR and TheraPlay.
I identify as a Mexican American, Tecate raised, lesbian. I enjoy drawing/painting, checking out new and unique restaurants/coffee shops/tea shops/speakeasies, being outdoors by a body of water or surrounded by tall trees and shrubbery, and enjoy live music. All and all, I’d say I’m a pretty sensitive and mushy kind of human. My call for being a provider is serving individuals that have been marginalized/oppressed, as I myself have experienced isolation, being a brown queer woman, and have witnessed other individuals feel isolated and alone in their experience because of who they are, how they show up in the world, and their story. I’m excited to to work together and take steps towards healing.
Daisy is a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker and conducts sessions at the Clairemont location and via telehealth.
